DAY 363.1 | Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former President who claimed "there are no homosexuals in Iran," was killed in airstrike on Tehran

Iran confirms that its former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was killed in Israeli airstrike.

Ahmadinejad was reportedly struck at his residence in the Narmak neighborhood of Tehran on February 28 (Saturday), along with bodyguards and companions. Iranian sources confirmed his death in the attacks, which also killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and targeted other senior figures of the regime.

On September 24, 2007, Ahmadinejad appeared at Columbia University. Columbia University's president, Lee Bollinger, introduced Ahmadinejad with a combative tone: "Mr. President, you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator."  Ahmadinejad responded by opening his speech saying that his introduction was "an insult to information and knowledge of the audience there." 

Asked why the Iranian Islamic regime executed homosexuals, his answer was met with derisive laughter: "In Iran we don't have homosexuals, like in your country. We don't have that in our country. In Iran we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who told you that we have it."
