Celebrating my Birthday at Prague's Café Slavia

Café Slavia is one of Prague’s most iconic and historic cafés, located on the banks of the Vltava (Moldau) River, directly across from the National Theatre.

Opened in 1884, it has long been a gathering place for artists, writers, intellectuals, and political dissidents: Franz Kafka, Rainer Maria Rilke, Václav Havel, Milan Kundera, Albert Einstein, just to name a few...

Its sober and elegant Art Déco interior, its large bay windows with views of the Prague Castle contribute to its timeless and spellbinding charm.

The spires in the background belong to the Prague Castle (official residence of the President of the Czech Republic) and the golden arches in the foreground support the Charles Bridge, which crosses the Vltava (Moldau) River. It's one of the oldest bridges in Prague. Café Slavia's large front bay-windows overlook this magnificent panorama.

My Prague birthday was everything I hoped for.

Thank You Prague!

    1. Merci ! Prague est froid et pluviotant ces jours-ci. Je priais pour un peu de neige en cadeau d'anniversaire mais mon vœu n'est pas exaucé.
