DAY 5 | Next Bond "won't necessarily be white," producers say

James Bond "won't necessarily be white," say producers of next 007

While Daniel Craig is giving up his James Bond costume for the next 007, the film's producers are still looking for his successor. The latter "won't necessarily be white," they assured.

During an interview with the American news agency Associated Press, the producers of James Bond said a little more about the future character in the saga. "He will be a man. He will probably be in his thirties. He won't necessarily be white," explained Barbara Broccoli.

The successor to Daniel Craig, who has starred in five films and after more than fifteen years of good and loyal service, will also have to commit to at least a decade of films.

"Every time we choose a new actor, the films change. It's the excitement of a new Bond, a new direction," confided Michael G. Wilson, the film's other producer.

“Every single person who took on the role offered something new and different,” he adds.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be the preferred candidate

For now, the character of 007 has not found a new actor, while Daniel Craig said goodbye to his character in 2021, after the release of "No Time to Die".

However, some names have come out to take on his costume, such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who would be the priority candidate.

The names of René-Jean Page and Lucien Laviscount, the actor who was seen in "Emily in Paris", have also come out.

As a reminder, many stars of the 7th art have already played the role of James Bond in the past, such as Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore or Sean Connery.
